Getting out doors to cook up something delicious on a grill or smoker is my favorite way to relax and soak in the sounds of the season, be it spring, summer, fall or even winter. Here’s an easy smoker recipe for pork spare ribs. Our family loves this. Good food in the great outdoors. Win, win!

Ingredients:

Ramstead spare ribs

  • 1 c (or to taste) BBQ rub of choice
  • 1 c BBQ sauce of choice

Tools:

  • Smoker
  • Large cutting board for working surface
  • Aluminum foil

Instructions:

  1. Trim excess fat
  2. Season both sides with BBQ rub
  3. When ready to cook, preheat smoker to 180°F degrees with lid closed
  4. Place ribs meat side up on rack and smoke 3-4 hours
  5. Remove from smoker when internal temperature reaches about 150°F degrees
  6. Increase smoker temperature to 350°F degrees
  7. Place about ¼ c BBQ sauce on large sheet of aluminum foil
  8. Lay 1 rack of ribs meat side down on foil and seal tightly
  9. Repeat for each rack
  10. Return racks to smoker and cook about 30-45 minutes to finish
  11. Rest for 15 minutes
  12. Serve with plenty of napkins

RECIPE: Kabobs In The Broiler

Kabobs are an adventure! Entertaining to assemble, everyone can make their own to their exact preferences, and fun to eat. Kabob creation is a great way to break up the redundancy of fork and knife dinner time. And cooking options are flexible since kabobs are easy to grill outdoors or broil in the oven on a rainy day. Try switching it up by using lamb, pork, or chicken for variety.

RECIPE: Carnitas

This versatile dish is both juicy AND crispy, so pan frying is not optional. Great for tacos, burritos, quesadillas, enchiladas, sliders. Excellent choice for family movie nights!
